Bharuch: An international group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members plans to start pink tourism for its community in the vicinity of Statue of Unity (SoU) near Sardar Sarovar Dam in Kevadia Colony of Narmada district.
Mark Snoxell, a citizen of New Zealand, and Mykel Dicus, Anthony Georgia and Chauncey from New York, the United States of America visited the SoU on Wednesday. They stayed at Rajpipla for three days on the invitation of gay prince Manvendrasinh Gohil and also explored the possibility of starting pink tourism for LGBT community near the SoU.
“The SoU is one of the many attractions for the LGBT community across the globe and hence our aim is to bring maximum people here”, Manvendrasinh Gohil told reporters on Saturday.
“We plan to set up a tourist centre near the SoU and organize tours to Hanumateshwar on the banks of River Narmada where Manvendrasinh Gohil has a community centre for the LGBT members,” Mark Snoxell said.
The community centre named ‘My Place' has five rooms and 25 more would be added soon, Manvendrasinh Gohil added.
