MS Dhoni becomes first Indian to play 300 T20 format matches

NEW DELHI: Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday added another feather to his illustrious cap during the third and final Twenty20 International against New Zealand at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Sunday. The former India captain became the first Indian cricketer to play 300 T20 format matches.

Overall, Dhoni is joint-12th in the list of cricketers who have played 300 or more T20 matches in their career. Dhoni now shares the 12th spot with England's Luke Wright, who also has 300 T20 matches to his name.

Dhoni has scored 6134 runs in his T20 career at an average of 38.57, including 24 half-centuries.

With 298 matches (including the 3rd T20I vs NZ), Rohit Sharma is second Indian and 13th overall in the list.

With 446 T20 matches, West Indies' devastating all-rounder Kieron Pollard is on top of the all-time tally.

Pollard has 8753 runs under his belt at an average of 29.97, including one century and 43 half-centuries.
