Audio tape controversy: BS Yeddyurappa admits meeting JD(S) MLA\'s son

HUBBALLI: Karnataka BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa has admitted that he met JD(S) MLA Naganagowda’s son Sharanagouda at the inspection bungalow in Devdurg. He charged that the MLA’s son met him following direction from chief minister HD Kumaraswamy.

"He (Sharangouda) recorded the conversation and the audio clip was chopped according to the convenience, leaving out a major portion. HD Kumaraswamy as a part of conspiracy sent Sharangouda to the inspection bungalow," said the former CM.

"Kumaraswamy stooped to a new low in the politics by starting a new trend of trapping the elected representatives. It is true that I had a conversation with Sharangouda but not everything was revealed. The chief minister is indulging in conspiracy politics," he added.

"Assembly speaker KR Ramesh Kumar is an honest person, I did not offer anything to him, what Kumaraswamy alleged in the press conference was far from the truth," he further added.

Earlier, Yeddyurappa had dismissed the audio clips saying it was fake and doctored and stated that he had not met anyone including Naganagowda.

He spoke to media persons at the Hubballi airport on Sunday, the former chief minister is in the city to take part in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's election rally.
