PM likely to inaugurate 31 projects on Feb 19 visit

Varanasi: The city is likely to get showered with gifts worth Rs 2,130.53 crore by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his proposed visit to the city on Feb 19.
The Prime Minister is likely to inaugurate 31 projects worth Rs 2078.71 crores and lay foundation of three projects worth Rs 51.81 crores during his visit.
Ahead of the PM’s visit, chief minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed all the projects to be inaugurated during his two-day stay in the city on Friday and Saturday.
Talking to TOI on Sunday, district magistrate Surendra Singh said the list of projects to be inaugurated by the PM has almost been finalised. The newly-constructed cancer hospitals- Mahamana Madan Mohan Malviya Cancer Centre of Banaras Hindu University and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital Lehartara, constructed with the cost of Rs 650 crores and Rs 140 crores, respectively, will be formally inaugurated by the PM during his visit giving a boost to the health sector in the region.
The super specialty and casualty blocks of 150 bedded ESIC hospital of Rs 53.83 crores, 100 bedded maternity wing of Government Women hospital of Rs 19.99 crores, upgradation works of DDU district hospital with Rs 8.14 crores and city community health center at Shivpur of Rs 3.89 crores will also be formally opened.
Two ambitious projects for tourism sector including virtual experiential museum at observatory of renovated Maan Mahal at RP Ghat of Rs 15.55 crores and long awaited sound and light show at Sarnath of Rs 7.88 crores besides, heritage street light project and infrastructural development work for tourist sites of Sarnath are also included in the list of projects to be inaugurated.
The sewage treatment plant of Goithaha of Rs 217.57 crores, drinking water project under JNNURM of Rs 268.38 crores, dairy food project of four lakh liter capacity at Ramnagar of Rs 149.84 crores are also likely to be ianugurated by the PM on February 19.
This list of projects also contained the instrumentation central discovery centre at BHU of Rs 73 crores, city command center and three beautified parks under the Smart City scheme apart from many roads, housing, drinking water, renovation of three ghats, electrification and veterinary poly clinic.
Apart from these PM will also lay foundation of new projects for boosting tourism sector worth Rs 44.60 crores, Kanha cattle center of Rs 6.01 crores and a cow conservation center of Rs 1.20 crores.
