Man fights for life after vehicle rollover

A man in his 20s is fighting for life after he had to be cut from his vehicle, which had rolled over in Central Queensland.

Police said the man was driving a car on Red Rover Road at 2pm on Saturday when it rolled and left the roadway in Gladstone, about 107 kilometres from Rockhampton.

An RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service spokeswoman said it appeared the four-wheel-drive vehicle left the road and slammed into a culvert where it came to rest.

He was initially flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a serious condition.

However, police said the man was flown to Brisbane with life-threatening injures, including suspected head and abdominal injuries, and a broken leg.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
