HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said on Saturday that the ‘Panchagramala’ land issue that has been hanging fire for a long time would be resolved with the government discussing it in the Assembly session and bringing a special Act.

Once the gazette notification is issued, a three-member committee comprising the District Collector, the Joint Collector and the Executive Officer of the Simhachalam Devasthanam would start acting on it, he said at a press conference here. The claims would be settled based on a survey conducted in 2008. Government Whip P.G.V.R. Naidu expressed his happiness over a solution in sight for the knotty issue.

Pendurti MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, Elamanchili MLA Panchakarla Rameshbabu and District Collector K. Bhaskar were present.

Amenities in schools

It comprises construction of 40,083 additional classrooms in government schools in all the 13 districts and 20,808 toilets and furniture worth ₹1,035.68 crore .

The minister said qualified teachers, amenities and introducing digital and virtual classrooms had led to a record 1.71 lakh students returning to government schools in 2018-19 academic year.
