Recently a video went viral which showed a pilot perform a perfect ‘TOGA.’ The incident happened in Heathrow Airport near London where a British Airways flight aborted landing due to strong winds caused by Storm Erik. The video shows the plane slowing in the air before a touching the ground. The video further shows that as soon as the plane touches the ground it flies back up the air, this process is called ‘TOGA’ which stands for Take Off/Go Around.
The clip was shared by Big Jet TV on its Channel, with the caption, “witnessed this insane #TOGA! Well done pilot!” check out the clip below

After seeing the video, Senior First Officer Scott Bateman explained the steps taken by the pilots, Scott tweeted, “It’s a particularly challenging day at #Heathrow with gusty winds. Let’s not have sensationalist headlines please. This is a professional team making the correct decision to go around after an approach is destabilised by a gust. A practiced & entirely safe manoeuvre #StormErik”
Because of the pilots correct decision the flight landed safely later.
