A house was burgled in Janathapuram in Vaniyambadi on Thursday.
The burglars reportedly made off with 20 sovereigns of gold and ₹1 lakh in cash.
The police said Tamizharasan, 38, and his wife went to their medical shop near Putrukoil in Vaniyambadi town after locking their house in the morning. On returning, they saw the locks had been broken and the valuables inside had been stolen.
The Vaniyambadi taluk police have registered a case and are investigating.
