Police use a pregnant woman as decoy

A radiologist with Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science was arrested by the Rachakonda police after they raided a scanning centre in Ibrahimpatan on Saturday for allegedly conducting pre-natal sex determination test.

The police sent a six-month pregnant woman as a decoy to expose foetal sex determination, which is illegal, being carried out by quacks allegedly at the hospitals.

The Ibrahimpatan police along with SHE team assisted District Medical and Health officer conducted a decoy operation on Prathyusha Scanning Centre in Ibrahimpatan.

The arrested doctor was identified as Katta Nanda Kishore (58) from Hayathnagar. Efforts are on to nab mediator Narsing Jangaiah.

Recently, the Rachakonda police conducted decoys operations and arrested five doctors from three multi-speciality hospitals at Uppal, Medipally, and Choutuppal.
