The students - Bharatraj, Govindaraj and Dhanapal - were in their first year at the Tamil department in the college. “A few days ago, the students had taken a video of one of their professors while taking a class and voiced them over to a comedy scene of actor Vadivelu,” sources said, adding, “Within a few hours, the video went viral on the platform.”
Based on a complaint from the professor, college principal Kalaiselvan suspended the students for one month and barred them from taking the second semester examinations scheduled in April, the sources said. After the incident, the college management has prohibited the use of mobile phones in the classrooms.
