Man charged with rape in Melbourne CBD

A man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today after he was charged with rape at a King Street bar.

Sexual Crimes Squad detectives have charged a 42-year-old Hampton Park man with two counts of rape, two of false imprisonment and one count of assault on February 2.

Police allege the sexual assaults happened at a licensed premises on King Street in Melbourne's CBD.
