Trio in Range Rover shoots at garage owner at Rajiv Chowk

GURUGRAM: Three men in a car were shot at by a passenger of an SUV near Rajiv Chowk on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The assailant in the SUV fired three shots but the victim and his friends managed to escape unhurt while the accused fled.
An FIR has been registered at Shivaji Nagar police station.
The complaint was filed by Amit Kumar, who lives in Subhsah Nagar colony. Kumar runs a car repair workshop in Dharuhera and goes there every day in his Maruti Zen car. On the intertwining night of Friday and Saturday, around 12.25am, he and two of his friends were passing through Rajiv Chowk when a Range Rover overtook their car.
“There were three men in the SUV. After the SUV took over my car, one of the occupants pulled out a gun and started shooting at us. I reversed my car and managed to save myself and my friends while the accused fled,” Kumar said in his police complaint.
The complaint was filed but no suspects have been named. Kumar said that he could not identify any of the accused and was unable to think of a motive.
Acoording to the complaint, an FIR has been registered against unknown persons under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 307 (murder attempt), 34 (common intention) of the IPC and sections 25-54-59 of the Arms Act at Shivaji Nagar police station.
“This might be a case of road rage. We are trying to identify the accused using CCTV footage from the nearby area. The accused will be arrested as soon as possible,” ASI Balraj Singh, the investigating officer, said.
