AGRA: Superintendents of 184 exam centres across Agra, where thousands of students are appearing for UP Board papers, are in a fix over the day when they are supposed to conduct the Class XII History exam. The date of Class XII History exam according to the Uttar Pradesh Board time table is different from that of mentioned on packets of question papers sent to the exam centers.
The situation has put the exam centre superintendents in a fix. They have now asked the district inspector of schools (DIOS) to look into the matter. Uttar Pradesh board exams started on Thursday.
The question paper packets of Class XII History mention that the exam would be conducted on February 28. However, the time table uploaded on the Uttar Pradesh Board's website says that the exam will take place on February 26. The exam timings are also different on both the days.
When contacted, DIOS Ravindra Singh said: "Exam centre superintendents have approached us about the exact date of Class 12 History exam. The matter will be brought to the notice of board authorities and correct date of exam will be conveyed to all."
An exam centre superintendent said, "There is confusion concerning Intermediate History exam. We have sought confirmation letter from DIOS over the date. Without official confirmation, we will not open the question paper packet. This year, the Uttar Pradesh board has not provided confidential exam programme which mentions paper code with date of exam".
