TNN | Updated: Feb 9, 2019, 20:17 ISTRanchi: Police on Friday exchanged fire with rebels of People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) in Kamdara police station area of Gumla district. Police claimed to have found the motorcycle used by PLFI chief Dinesh Gope from the spot.
Acting on a tip-off that Gope was in the area, personnel of state police along with Jharkhand Jaguar launched a search operation in the area.
Superintendent of police (Khunti) Alok said, “The operation was planned by Khunti police after a tip-off on the PLFI rebels’ presence. The operation was, however, carried out jointly by Khunti and Gumla district police. The bike found from the spot seemed to belong to the PLFI supremo.”
