Mercedes-AMG A35 Displays Its Credentials In Hill-Climbing Adventure

It may be the cheapest new Mercedes-AMG money can buy today, but the A35 doesn’t lack the fun factor. Quite the opposite, as all it takes for it to come to life is a twisty road and someone who knows what he’s doing behind the wheel.

Mind you, this isn’t a timed hill-climb video, as it comes from a YouTube channel specialized in providing viewers with a driver’s perspective into different cars.

So, it does just that to the new AMG A35, pushing it so that you can see what it’s like under a little bit of pressure. And if you cannot wait for the verdict, we’ll spoil it for you this time: it’s quite exciting.

This is good news for prospective buyers. Meanwhile, AMG is working on a more potent version of the hot hatch. The AMG A45 will use a more powerful 2.0-liter four-pot, believed to develop as much as 421 PS (415 hp / 310 kW). That’s a healthy upgrade over the A35’s 306 PS (301 hp / 225 kW), which takes 4.7 seconds to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph), going all the way up to a 250 km/h (155 mph) top speed.

Mercedes-AMG won’t sell the A35 hatch in the States. However, they will bring the A35 Sedan, which is basically the same car, only with a different body style. Thus, if you consider purchasing the sporty four-door, then you can see what to expect by watching this video, as the two hot versions of the new A-Class are very much alike.
