A man is missing after the boat he was on crashed at Groper Creek in north Queensland's flood.

Emergency services said at least two men had fallen overboard when it crashed near a jetty close to Hinkson Esplanade, roughly 120 kilometres from Townsville, about 5.30pm on Friday.

Police said two men were able to make it to safety but a third man was missing.

Paramedics treated one man suffering from facial and suspected spinal injuries who was then taken to Ayr Hospital in a stable condition.

Police were coordinating a search with water police, swift water rescue crews, a helicopter and a number of other vessels.

The search was called off overnight but was expected to resume on Saturday morning.
