2 booked for selling illegal liquor

Division 7 police station has registered a case against two persons for allegedly selling liquor in the town. The accused have been identified as Narinderjeet Singh of Kunal Enclave and Happy of Guru Arjun Dev Nagar. Investigating officer Kashmir Singh said on Thursday when they were patrolling near Tajpur Road, they were informed that the accused were going to sell liquor in the town and were coming towards T-point near the water tank.
On inspecting the accused, police officials recovered 25 boxes of liquor from the car of the accused. Cops from the police station have registered a case against the two accused under sections 61,78,01 and 14 of the ex.ACT and arrested one of the accused, Narinderjeet Singh. Police are yet to arrest the other accused, but have recovered 25 boxes of liquor, and impounded the car used in the crime.

Fatehgarh resident alleges dupe

Division 8 police station has registered a case against several persons for allegedly cheating a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib. The accused are identified as Ajay Arora, Ramesh Verma (both GK Vihar), Robin Verma, Raman Kumar, and Ramesh Verma.


In his police complaint, Gurvinder Singh said all the accused had taken money in several instalments since July 2017, as they promised to settle him abroad, but were unable to do so, and were now neither returning their money nor keeping their promise. On being informed, cops from the police station registered a case against all the accused under sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC, and 24 of the Immigration Act 1983. Police are yet to arrest the accused.


1 booked for stealing two-wheeler


Haibowal police station has registered a case against an unidentified person for allegedly stealing the two-wheeler of a resident of Bachan Singh Nagar. In his police complaint, Mahaveer Singh (22) said that on Tuesday, he parked his motorcycle outside his home, and when he returned to the spot at 11.30pm, his bike was missing. On being informed, cops from the police station have registered a case against the unidentified accused into the matter under Section 379 (punishment for theft) of the IPC. Police are yet to identify and arrest the accused.
