Ludhiana: Police arrested a general store owner after Chinese strings were recovered from his shop in Samrala on Friday.
Rohit Bathla, a resident of Dhillon Colony in Samrala, runs Desraj General Store on Chandigarh Road.
Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said, “On a tip-off, a police party raided his shop and found 102 roles of China-made strings there.”
A case has been registered under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said Chinese thread was banned in the state, as every year many people and birds lose their lives due to it.
