Excise sleuths arrested a person with 60 nitrazepam tablets, a hypnotic drug allegedly meant for sale among college students, from Moothakunnam Junction near Paravur on Friday.
The accused was identified as Dijo, 28, of Thrissur. “He has been in the business for at least six months and his clientele mainly are college students from Paravur, Kodungalloor and Ernakulam areas,” said M. Suraj, Excise Inspector, Paravur.
He said the accused had a network that helped him source the drug from Tamil Nadu. “Strips of ten tablets he bought for ₹500 were sold for double that price.”
