Prime Minister is likely to throw up a counter punch to TDP charges

A hectic schedule awaits Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Guntur, his third to Capital Amaravati since 2014 and second since becoming the PM.

The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at the open grounds on Etukuru Road at 11 am by a helicopter.

National projects

Before addressing the public meeting, he would unveil the plaques of the foundation stone for setting up the BPCL’s coastal terminal at Krishnapatnam. He will dedicate to the nation the ONGC’s Vashishta and S1 gas fields located in the Krishna-Godavari Offshore Basin and the Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd — Visakhapatnam’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve facility.

The last time Mr. Modi visited the Capital region was in October 2015 when he came to lay the foundation stone for Amaravati —— India’s first greenfield city. The grand ceremony held in lush green fields had an air of hope and expectancy with Mr. Modi announcing that he would honour every assurance made in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

The visit was followed by a spree of foundation stone laying ceremonies for various Central and State institutions like the AIIMS, Mangalagiri and the NG Ranga Agricultural University, Lam.

With just 90 days to go for elections, the PM is expected to throw up a strong counter punch to the TDP by listing various schemes and projects directly funded by the Centre including the Polavaram Project.

The BJP leaders are also expecting some solid statements by PM on the Visakhapatnam railway zone and the Kadapa steel plant.
