Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and possibly Redmi Note 7 Pro go out for a spin with Mi Fans in Bengaluru, launch imminent

Xiaomi's India head Manu Kumar Jain posted some photos of himself showing the 48MP camera phone to Mi Fans in Bengaluru. The tweet joins a flurry of previous Redmi Note 7 teasers that have increased in intensity over the past week.

Looks like the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is imminent as the phone has now been taken out for a spin and shown off to Mi Fans in Bengaluru. Teasers of the Redmi Note 7’s launch in India have increased in intensity over the past week and new photos posted by Xiaomi's India head and Global VP, Manu Kumar Jain, even show the phone in his hands. In fact, Jain is seen holding two phones in his hands, and the second phone could possibly be the Redmi Note 7 Pro. In his Tweet, Jain uses all kinds of adjectives to hype up the India launch of the company’s first phone with a 48MP camera setup. The executive calls it “magical” and says that “it will surely turn the industry upside down”.

Xiaomi’s previous marketing campaigns around the launch of the Redmi Note 7 series in India have taken several digs at Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy M10 and M20 smartphones. The M-series smartphones are seen as Samsung’s attempt at countering its Chinese competitors in the mid-range and budgets segments. Keeping with the sentiment, Xiaomi posted several teasers playing on the letter ‘M’.

Xiaomi seems pretty confident about the response it will receive for the Redmi Note 7. Rumours also suggest that the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Go smartphones will tag along when the Note 7 launches in India. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 675 SoC, making it the first phone to do so. Further, it is expected to carry forward Redmi Note 7’s 48MP camera setup, albeit with a Sony IMX 586 sensor instead of Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GMI 48MP sensor.

All three new Redmi phones - Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Go - are expected to be unveiled in India sometime next week. Rumours suggest the phones could launch on February 14 and we expect Xiaomi to launch them before Samsung’s S10 series goes official on February 20.
