NOIDA: The district-level committee set up to look into parents’ complaints on fee-related issues on Friday deferred its meeting for the fourth time this month.

The parents’ body — All Noida School Parents’ Association (ANSPA) — expressed dismay that despite several attempts, the district fee regulation committee (DFRC) had not been able to meet even once this month because senior administrative officials were not present.

“The first meeting was scheduled on January 4, then deferred to January 6. It was again scheduled for January 11, but the meeting could not be held. It was supposed to be held today, but was postponed again. When we reached the office of the district administration on Friday, we were told that the meeting was cancelled because of some important engagement,” said K Arunachalam, general secretary of ANSPA.

“We have several parents who have put forward their complaints precisely against three schools. The meeting of the DFRC is important so that the UP Fee Regulation Act is implemented in all private schools. Most schools are revising their fee structure on an ad hoc basis. But there are several schools that are yet to upload their fee details on their websites since 2016,” said Yatendra Kasana ANSPA president.

The district administration hoped the meeting would be held soon. BN Singh, the district magistrate, said: “I had to postpone Friday’s meeting because of the Prime Minister’s visit on February 11. A meeting with the parents would be scheduled soon.”
