Authorities make the largest seizure of methamphetamine on U.S. soil, confiscating nearly $1 billion worth of the drug headed for Australia.????During a joint operation in California between U.S. authorities and the Australian Federal Police, a record-setting shipment of meth was seized, weighing in at 1.7 tons.????Authorities discovered the drugs inside electronic equipment loaded onto wooden pallets.????The AFP announced the January 9th seizure after Victoria Police arrested 6 people who are allegedly involved in the U.S.-based crime syndicate they believe are responsible for the attempted shipment.????According to the AFP, they estimate the 1.7 tons of meth seized to be the equivalent 17 million drug deals.????In addition to the record amount of meth captured, authorities also reported finding $6.7 million worth of cocaine and $1.8 million of heroin.
