Ever thought who found caffeine in the world? Well, today Google is celebrating 225th birth anniversary of the one who first discovered caffeine with an animated doodle. Friedlieb Ferdinand Runge’s 225th birthday was a German analytical scientist who is not only credited with discovering caffeine but also inventing the first coal tar dye along with a process for dyeing clothes. He has many other achievements as well- he was one of the first scientists to isolate quinine, discovered the effects of belladonna on eyes, originator of chromatography and even devising a method to extract sugar from beet juice.
