Letter to the Editor: Immaculate Conception Church deserves more respect

I’m writing this letter in response to The Herald News' continued insensitive reporting of the demolition of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.

On June 21, 2018, an article appeared in The Herald News entitled “Immaculate Conception Church in Fall River set to be destroyed.” I submitted a Letter to the Editor to The Herald News on this type of disrespectful reporting, and to my surprise it was never published.

Once again on Feb. 5, 2019, an article appeared on heraldnews.com entitled, “Here is the church, there goes the steeple,” with 18 frame-by-frame photos of the church’s bell tower being demolished as if to cheer this act.

To The Herald News, please show some respect to the members of this beloved parish.
