To familiarise them with political system

A ‘Children’s Parliament’ in which students of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation took part was organised by the Corporation at the civic centre on Thursday.

In a statement the SDMC said that the event was held to familiarise students with the political system of the country. As part of the exercise, Mock Parliament and House meetings were enacted, where the students acted as Prime Minister, Ministers, Speaker, Leader of the Opposition and other roles.

Up to 25 students from four zones of the Corporation took part in the exercise. The Mayor said that such events would inspire children to take up leadership positions in the future.
