Bus mows down watchman
TNN | Feb 9, 2019, 04:00 ISTSurat: A watchman of a residential complex in Jahangirpura was crushed under the wheels of a bus here on Friday morning. The victim was sleeping under the bus when the driver started it and sped away crushing him under the wheels. The driver was arrested in the evening.
Ranjit Vishwakarma, security guard of Riddhi Sidhi Row Houses, was sleeping under the stationary bus since night to escape chill. Driver Bahadur Hirji Vasava, 52, without realizing that someone was sleeping under the bus, started it and drove away, crushing Ranjit under its wheels in the morning.
Vasava has been booked for rash and negligent driving and some sections of Motor Vehicles Act.
