Another Rs 2,480 crore will be allocated for city-based medical facilities, including King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) and Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), of the total allocation of Rs 3,755 crore for new schemes.
Being the biggest beneficiary, KGMU has been assigned Rs 907 crore for various works, including an epidemic laboratory network, treatment of incurable diseases and free treatment of poor.
An additional Rs 25 crore will be provided for proposed setting up a satellite centre of KGMU at Balrampur district.
Free treatment for poor at SGPGI
