MUZAFFARNAGAR: The body of a day-old girl was found stuffed in a bread packet in a garbage dump in Bhopa region of Muzaffarnagar. A group of women devotees on the way to Shukrteerth, a religious spot, spotted the body and informed police.
Deputy superintendent of police of Bhopa Ram Mohan Sharma told TOI on Friday, “We are investigating the matter. The body has been sent for an autopsy and soon we will find out who has thrown it there.”
This is not the first time the district has witnessed such an incident. On September 19, r in Meerapur area, a body of a newborn baby girl was discovered by a sweeper from a toilet.
In July last year, Government Railway Police (GRP) was informed that two baby girls aged one or two years had been found abandoned on platform number one, near the parcel house. Both were in a bad condition and had to be admitted to hospital.
In June, a masked woman was caught on CCTV camera in Khalapar area, stepping out of a car with a Haryana number plate and leaving a newborn baby girl at the doorstep of a house. The woman and her husband were traced on the basis of the registration number of the car.
