Riverdale Casts Chad Michael Murray as Edgar Evernever and It Makes Perfect Sense

Riverdale is adding another famous heartthrob of yesteryear to its roster, and we could not be more excited. Chad Michael Murray, aka One Tree Hill's Lucas Scott, will be joining the insanity that is Riverdale later this season, TV Guide has learned.

Murray will be playing the enigmatic cult leader Edgar Evernever. Over the course of Season 3, we've heard a lot about and all the "help" he's been giving the Cooper family. Hell, he even has Betty's (Lili Reinhart) college money to take care of the teens she rescued from the Sisters of Quiet Mercy. What a guy!

Still, fans have been eager to find out what exactly is going on at The Farm and why this cult has managed to recruit some of our favorite characters. The CW did not reveal when we can expect Murray to make his first appearance, but he will be recurring in multiple episodes in the back half of the season. All we can say is that we can't wait to see Edgar and FP (Skeet Ulrich) square off for Alice Cooper's (Madchen Amick) heart now!

Buckle up because this is going to be a wild ride.
