Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar reaches Shillong to face CBI

KOLKATA: Rajeev Kumar, Kolkata's Police commissioner left for Shillong to face the CBI for his alleged role in destroying evidence in Saradha probe.
Kumar was earlier CP of Bidhananagar and had headed the SIT probing the chit fund scam and opposition had alleged that Kumar had destroyed evidences.
Earlier, this week Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had staged a dharna when CBI went to question Kumar at his residence.
The CBI officials were even taken to police custody and later the Supreme Court had directed that Kumar has to appear before CBI at a neutral place and for which Shillong was selected.
Kumar will face the questioning by CBI on Saturday. Three other IPS officers of Kolkata Police are accompanying Kumar.
