India vs New Zealand Ind vs NZ 2nd T20 Live Cricket Score Online: India were handed an increasingly rare hiding in the first T20I by New Zealand. Batting first, the Kiwis set India a mammoth target of 220 to chase largely thanks to the belligerence of opener Tim Seifert. The visitors, who won the preceding ODI series 4-1, were then bundled out for 139 and thus fell to an 80-run loss, their biggest in T20 Internationals.

The defeat is only a rare thorn in what has otherwise been an excellent tour for India which followed a successful tour of Australia. Rohit Sharma and co. will be looking to put that behind them in Auckland and level the series.

WICKET!

And now a wicket. After two economical overs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar started off with a four and a six before getting Seifert caught behind. Went after the delivery outside off, moved away just a touch and gets the faintest of edges behind to MS Dhoni. Seifert departing for 12 runs from 12 balls. New Zealand are 15/1

SIX!

A six now. This one is more confident and cleanly hit. Middled by Seifert and it has just about cleared the boundary rope towards long on

FOUR!

First boundary of the match comes off Tim Seifert's bat. Banged in short by Bhuvi, Seifert looked to come down the track but does well to pull down and low for a boundary

Khaleel starts off well

Khaleel Ahmed from the other end and he, too, makes a strong start. Getting the ball to land in the right areas and keeping the pace well. Two runs from the over. New Zealand 5/0 after two overs

Underway

A confident and economical start from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Beats the outside edge twice in the first six balls and goes for three balls.

Minutes to go

Fans are making their way to the stadium and players are slowly making their way into the middle. Still some time to go so you check this out in the meantime: want to earn Rs 1.18 crore for 48 “working days” across five months? Become a cricket administrator and you might earn exactly that, or nothing at all.

Both teams unchanged

Rohit Sharma said that the balance of this team is right for smaller grounds like the ones they are playing in today. "We want to start fresh and see what we can do with the ball. It's very simple, we need to do the little things right. We need to keep doing the right things and keep doing that consistently," he said at the toss.

New Zealand win the toss, elect to bat first

India XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Vijay Shankar, Dinesh Karthik, MS Dhoni (WK), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Khaleel Ahmed

The Pitch

Simon Doull reckons that this is a good batting wicket. Not too much grass, which means that the ball can grip for the spinners.

India women

Harmanpreet Kaur and co. just lost a thriller against New Zealand with the last over of the match containing everything from overthrows and boundaries to wickets. At the end of it all, the White Ferns won by four wickets to take the second T20I and the series.

Hello and welcome!

New Zealand were riding high before India arrived and since then, they have had few reasons to smile. One of these, though, came encouragingly in the first match of the T20I series with New Zealand handing the dominant Indians an 80-run hiding. Despite the heavy nature of the defeat, India wouldn't be too bothered by it, considering the success they have enjoyed over the past two months and they would be confident of bouncing back in Auckland. However, a tough competition is something that has been missing from this tour so far and thus the neutral spectator has been given something to look forward to after the first T20. Let's see how this one pans out.
