About 80 students of 10th grade of KM Shirodkar CBSE school can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the school got an affiliation of Central Board of Secondary Education board two days back. The school was trying to get affiliation to the central board for the last three years. The students appearing for the board exams were on tenterhooks as the exams are less than 10 days away and the school was still struggling to get recognition from the central board.

Avinash Hanjankar, General Secretary, from School management said, “We did applied for affiliation three years back with CBSE board. But because of the changes in bylaws to get the affiliation came in place last year, we could not get it early.”

The bylaws changed after the murder of a student in a Gurugram school. The board wanted schools to follow all safety measures for the students which impacted Shirodkar school’s affiliation. The problem of our students of grade 10 is also solved now and they will be able to give their board exams starting in next month,” claimed Hanjankar.

Similarly, many schools are waiting to get a central board affiliation. However, many are admitting students even before they complete the requisite formalities.
