Man booked for repeatedly raping 22-year-old woman

HISAR: The Hisar police have booked a man for allegedly raping a 22-year-old student for over four years, which made her have a miscarriage twice. The accused’s father has also been booked for sexual harassment, and his mother for causing hurt.
However, Hisar women police station registered a zero FIR and sent it to Rawatsar in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan for further investigation.
A police spokesperson said a zero FIR number case was registered at the woman police station under sections 313 (causing miscarriage), 323 (causing hurt), 376(2)N (continuous rape), 354-A (sexually harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC against the three accused, all resident of Sirsa district, on the complaint of 22-year-old rape survivor.
The rape survivor told cops that she became friends with the man, who raped her, when she was studying in college. She said, in April 2016, they had gone to attend her friend’s marriage function and stayed at a hotel, where he raped her. She said that when she told him that she would complain to her family, he promised to marry her after finding a good job. Later, he kept her in a rented house in Hisar and repeatedly raped her, she added.
In August 2017, she got pregnant but the accused got the foetus aborted in a hospital. Later, in December 2017, she was pregnant again but he gave her medicines to abort the foetus. However, she fell unconscious and had to be admitted in a hospital. Once out of the hospital, she asked his parents and hers to come to Hisar and stay with them in the rented house. However, there too, the accused’s father tried to sexually harass her, and when she resisted, threatened to kill her.
