Aim is to propagate secular values

A cultural rally taken out by the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham (Pukasa) traversed through the district on Thursday, propounding that the State should uphold its secular values.

The rally, led by writer Ashokan Charuvil, was accorded receptions at Manjeri, Kottakkal, and Ponnani. Actor Nilambur Aysha inaugurated the reception at Manjeri and Kathakali exponent Kottakkal Sasidharan opened the function at Kottakkal. Theatre artiste Sreeja Arangottukara inaugurated the reception at Ponnani. Social activist K.E.N. Kunhahamed addressed the rally at Manjeri. K.K. Balachandran, director of Monti International Institute of Management Studies, Puthanangadi, presided.

N. Radhakrishnan Nair, Sasidharan Clari and Kottakkal Padmanabhan addressed the rally at Kottakkal. Alankode Leelakrishnan, P.K. Kalimuddin, V.V. Ramakrishnan spoke at Ponnani. Mahakavi Moyinkutty Vaidyar Mapila Kala Academy presented Mappilapattu at the rally.
