Massive fire at Noida hospital, scores of patients evacuated

The fire broke out around 10am on Thursday at the third floor of the hospital at Noida’s Sector 12. No casualties have been reported yet.

A fire broke out in Metro Hospitals and Heart Institute in Noida on Thursday. Police and hospital staff evacuated scores of patients from the building.

The fire broke out around 10am on Thursday at the third floor of the hospital at Noida’s Sector 12. No casualties have been reported yet.

The patients were shifted to another unit of the Metro hospital at Sector 11, Noida . Sources said the fire was caused due to a gas leakage but it has not been confirmed.

Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the flames were doused around 10.30am. Thick smoke could be seen billowing out of the multi-storeyed building.

News agency PTI reported that people were standing on ledges in balconies as rescuers tried to reach them by breaking window panes.
