Welcome to week... whatever this is of The Masked Singer! After this, the show has only six more animals left. Hopefully this isn't distressing news but then, you've seen a unicorn turn into Tori Spelling so not much can break you can it?
Nick Cannon, who toned down his look last week, was thankfully back to his flamboyantly attired self this time, rocking a black and silver chintz tuxedo and a glittery turban that looked like it may have been a parting gift from Mariah Carey. The man does not know understatement, and we are all the better for it. How will we go on after this goes off the air for the season? Meanwhile, scroll to the bottom to see who was revealed this week.
Bee kicked off the night. By now everybody believes she's Gladys Knight, and her package seemed designed to throw everyone off -- suggesting she could be Chaka Khan ("I'm every Bee") or Patti LaBelle ("peaches and marmalade"). She sang "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus, prompting Robin Thicke to guess Bee was indeed the former leader of the Pips. This panel's resident genius Nicole Scherzinger noted Bee's voice sounded seasoned and mature -- a sensible assumption given Bee has said several times she's been singing since the 1950s -- but when Bee brought out her prop, some baking tools, Jenny McCarthy guessed Bee was Patti LaBelle since Patti's known for her pies. But Gladys is also known for throwing down in the kitchen; she has owned a chicken and waffles restaurant, or at least, she once did.

In his package, he twirled his cape around to reveal it was lined with a rainbow flag, prompting Thicke to wonder if he's Neil Patrick Harris because GAY. He sang John Legend's "All of Me" pretty solidly; Nicole said he had a "mature" voice -- exactly what she said about Bee just a few moments ago, but whatever. Robin Thicke said "Neil Patrick Harris" about 24 more times, and Ken Jeong said he had an air that "wasn't cocky, no pun intended," which we have to hope was a reference to the flag. His prop clue was a wig, which Peacock said landed him in jail. Jenny stuck to her Donny Osmond guess but threw in Wayne Brady too. While waiting for the next performance, Jenny applied lip gloss as Nicole said, "Who do you think it is?" God, this show is fascinating.
The Masked Singer Will Return for Season 2
Raven's intro referenced 11:11 and made note, a few times, of the fact that she made a living talking -- another clue this is probably Ricki Lake. She sang "Brave" by Sara Bareilles, sounding exactly like Ricki Lake though Jenny still thinks this is Sherri Shepherd. Then Raven revealed her prop: an Emmy! This prompted the panel to throw Sheryl Underwood and Carnie Wilson's names into the mix as well as the obvious: Raven-Symoné.
Monster's package said he was a fighter and talked about what he's overcome, which, why are the people on The Masked Singer trying to act like this show is spending a week at an ashram? Stop it. Anyway, Monster, likely T-Pain, sang "American Woman" by Lenny Kravtiz -- and pretty well. Ken guessed David Alan Grier -- not a bad suggestion since he's a trained performer -- and Robin said something about him having a "soulful" voice, a way of saying this dude is definitely black. Sounds right. His prop was a headset, twisting Jenny in knots with the idea that he's a sports broadcaster. Somebody said Sugar Ray Leonard, who very likely can't sing like that. Maybe the headset is just how T-Pain takes calls? That seemed like something he'd do.
In the end, Raven had to yank off that mask while the audience shouted "Take it off!" It was... exactly who we expected: Ricki Lake. She said she chose the Raven costume because it was all about metamorphosis -- death but also rebirth -- and she's in that space since losing her husband last year. Good for her!
