Surprise checks at sub-registrar offices, three found absent

Ludhiana: As per the directions of the Punjab government and on the orders of the deputy commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, surprise checks of all sub-registrar offices of Ludhiana district was carried out on Wednesday morning. During the surprise checks, a total of three officials were found absent from duty.

Giving more information, assistant commissioner (grievances) Kanu Garg said these surprise checks were carried out in all sub-registrar offices at the same time this morning.


She said two officials of the sub-registrar office, Hambran Road, and one official of the Raikot tehsil office were found absent. The checking was carried out by all SDMs and the district revenue officer.


She said: “I will write to initiate departmental action against the officials who were found absent. Such acts on behalf of the officials will not be tolerated at any cost. To ensure punctuality among the staff, such surprise checks will be continued in the future as well.”


She said during the surprise checks, arrangements of potable drinking water and toilets were also checked. Besides, necessary directions regarding display board, fee board, service boards for the centres were also issued.
