Weeks ahead of its release, Arjun Reddy's Tamil remake Varmaa starring Dhruv - son of actor Vikram - has hit quite a big roadblock. Varmaa was originally directed by National Award winning director Bala.
E4 Entertainment, which is helming the film, announced on Thursday, that the film will be shot again with a new cast and crew, including the director. The production house cited 'creative differences' as the reason for the decision. Dhruv, who is the main lead in the film, will however, retain his role.
"We are E4 Entertainment are not at all happy with the final version handed over to us and due to various creative and other differences, we have decided not to release this version," a press release from the production house stated. The release added that the 'new film' might have a June 2019 release.
Earlier, E4 Entertainment had engaged Bala's production house, B Studios, to re-create the blockbuster Telugu film in Tamil. Varmaa also starred Megha Chowdhury, Easwari Rao, Raiza Wilson and Akash Premkumar. Music was composed by Radhan while the cinematography for the film was by M. Sukumar.
The details of the new cast and crew, barring Dhruv, is yet to be released.
