Man injured as pistol goes off in his hand

RAJKOT: A man was injured when the country-made pistol he was cleaning went off in his hand in Navagam Ged locality in Jamnagar on Tuesday night. Police said, the victim, identified as Raju Jethwa (32), was cleaning the pistol at his house in Siddheshwar Society when the accident occurred.
The firearm that Jethwa was cleaning accidentally went off, injuring his hand seriously. “When Jethwa was admitted to a private hospital, the authorities there called us. In his statement, Jethwa said he had borrowed the pistol from his friend Firoz Kherani. Following this, we booked both Jethwa and Kherani under the Arms Act,” said an official from Jamnagar B-Division police station.
