Twin blasts in Imphal, 4 injured

The incident occurred near the main entrance of Mapal Kangjeibung (Pologround), close to the northern compound wall of the Raj Bhavan, at 6.10 pm. Security has been tightened across Imphal following the incident.
Chief minister N Biren Singh, who met the injured at RIMS hospital here, strongly condemned the incident. He said coordination among state and central forces would be strengthend further to foil such subversive activities.
Sources said the grenades exploded one after another within seconds, injuring the three jawans. The personnel, along with their officers, had come to the Pologround in connection with an equestrian event to be held there. The other injured, a sugarcane juice seller, is a non-local.
