Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said his government is "studying" the 2016 JNU sedition case. Former JNU Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar and JNU student Omar Khalid are the main accused in this case.
The Delhi Police has claimed that it has sufficient evidence to prove that they were involved in organising an event where "anti-national" slogans were allegedly raised inside the JNU campus.
Arvind Kejriwal said, "The case is being studied by the Delhi government. The police took three years to file the chargesheet."
He said the Delhi Police filed the chargesheet without seeking permission from the Delhi government. He said the fact that the chargesheet was filed just before Lok Sabha elections "raises many questions".
