16 complaints received in women’s panel hearing
tnn | Feb 8, 2019, 05:00 ISTKanpur: As many as 16 complaints were received in public hearing held under the chairmanship of Poonam Kapoor, member of State Women’s Commission, at Circuit House on Thursday.
The public hearing was organized by the commission to provide speedy justice to the victims of harassment and check their victimization. The member passed orders and directions to concerning officers for immediate action and disposal of problems.
She asked the police officers to take effective steps in cases of women harassment.
Mehrotra also inspected 181 Asha Jyoti centers and sought information about women harassment cases. She directed the centre superintendent to take immediate and speedy and effective steps in such cases.
During the meeting, district probation officer, Anjit Kumar, additional city magistrate Meenu Rana, in-charge women police station Archana Gautam and other officials were present.
