Rain and heavy hailstorm in many parts of Delhi, Noida and Faridabad also affected the traffic movement.

18 flights were diverted from Delhi airport between 6 pm and 7 pm on Thursday due to bad weather, PTI quoted airport official as saying.

This came after Delhi recorded a significantly warm day on Wednesday with the maximum temperature recording 25.1 degrees Celsius – two notches above normal for this time of the season, while the minimum was 12 — three notches above normal.

The met office had predicted moderate showers for Thursday, accompanied with isolated hailstorm activity and strong surface winds ranging from 25 to 35 km/hr.

Traffic movement was slow on New Rohtak Road due to water-logging at Anand Parbat, Delhi traffic police alerted.

Commuters had to face difficulty on MB Road due to water-logging at Batra Hospital and PS Sangam Vihar.
