Prashant Bhushan gets contempt notices for remark on CBI appointment

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued contempt notices to lawyer Prashant Bhushan for alleging on social media that the central government had misled the court into believing that a high-powered panel had vetted the appointment of an interim CBI chief. A bench comprising Justices Arun Misra and Navin Sinha issued the notices on petitions filed by attorney general KK Venugopal and the central government.
