Company posts substantial gain in revenue, helped by consolidation of earnings from Australian TV assets

News Corp swung to a profit and posted a substantial gain in revenue in the December quarter, helped by the consolidation of earnings from its Australian television assets.

Total revenue in the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31 was $2.63 billion, up 21% from $2.18 billion a year earlier. Excluding the impact of acquisitions and foreign-exchange fluctuations, total revenue rose 3%.
