Jeppinamogaru Jaya-Vijaya kambala from tomorrow
TNN | Feb 8, 2019, 04:04 ISTMangaluru: The seventh edition of the two-day floodlight Keerthishesha Nadajeguttu and Mankutota Gutthu J Jayagangadhar Shetty Memorial ‘Jaya-Vijaya’ Jodukare kambala will be held at Jeppinamogaru, on Saturday.
Addressing the media, J Anil Shetty Mankutota, president of Jaya-Vijaya Jodukare Kambala Samiti, said that 125 pairs of racing buffaloes from across undivided Dakshina Kannada district are expected to take part in the kambala.
Explaining preparations, he added that two acres has been made ready with all amenities like water and others needs for the buffaloes. Apart from it, parking has been arranged for kambala lovers coming from various parts of the district.
It will be inaugurated at 8.30am on Saturday by Vedamurthy Brahmashree Vittaldas Tantry and S Ganesh Rao, chairman of Karavali Group of Institutions, will preside over it. During the stage programme in the evening on the same day, Krishna J Palemar, former minister, will preside over the event and U T Khader, district minister, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, and others will be chief guests.
The first two winners of the kambala will be awarded gold. There will be a total six categories in the competition.
