Man charged with indecent assault of girl in Sydney care facility
A man employed at a care facility in Sydney's south-west has been charged with indecently assaulting a teenage girl in his care.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced investigations after police received a report that a girl with a cognitive impairment had been indecently assaulted by a carer last year.
Following their inquiries, a 61-year-old man was arrested at Liverpool police station about 10am on Wednesday.
He was charged with aggravated indecent assault against a victim with a cognitive impairment.
The man’s employment at the facility has since been terminated.
Police will allege in court that the man indecently assaulted the girl while working at a care facility in Sydney’s south-west in July.
He was refused bail and expected to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
Investigations are continuing.
