Launches ‘My Clean City’ mobile application

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has launched an Android-based mobile application – My Clean City – to bring the corporation and the citizens of Mysuru closer to address problems with regard to the services and facilities faced in the city.

The app is available on Playstore. Citizens can directly navigate to the application by visiting www.mymcc.co.in

With the launch, MCC has joined the list of several Indian cities whose municipal bodies have taken the app-route for an interface with residents on their grievances and rapid addressing of the same.

“Unlike mobile applications available for roads and environment management by various municipal authorities, My Clean City is embedded with many features and top-notch technology that acts in real time,” claim the developers.

MCC Commissioner K.H. Jagadish told The Hindu that they took the app-route to understand the city better and address problems such as bad roads, footpath encroachment, damaged water lines and others, through citizens who can share the problems in their wards using the application.

He said citizens can lodge complaints about the problems related to roads like potholes; damaged or unmanaged street lights; damaged sewage pipes; damaged waterlines; dumping of solid wastes; thefts of road assets; footpath encroachment, uncleared animal carcasses etc., in real time and mark the same on Google Maps on the app for easy access by concerned authorites.

With the help of the all-in-one mobile application, citizens can access details about roads maintained by the MCC. Citizens can also get important location details shared by the MCC such as e-toilets, zonal offices etc.; and get driving assistance from Google, said Naveen from Future Design Technologies, that developed the app.

Mr. Naveen said, via a release here, that citizens can get details on complaints assigned to the authority, solved and pending cases. “App users will automatically get notifications as soon the problem is solved. A user can inspect the solved problem and give a rating on the work. A user can also reopen the issue if not satisfied with the work,” he said.

With help of accurate geo fencing facility (which is being done) available in the backend of the app, the MCC will receive the complaints which fall only within their working area. Thus, it doesn’t have problems currently faced by other apps.

Citizens will also get important information about councillors, standing committees, and key contacts of MCC officials.
