Ryan Murphy is really trying his hardest to get people (me) to watch American Horror Story Season 9. The prolific producer announced Wednesday via his Instagram, the way he always announces casting news, that Olympic medalist Gus Kenworthy has joined the cast of the FX drama as the boyfriend of Emma Roberts' character.

"That special moment when you realize you have an Olympic medal AND will be playing Emma Roberts' boyfriend on American Horror Story Season 9," Murphy wrote alongside a photo of a shirtless Kenworthy, which sadly does not include the Olympian's adorable dog.

Everything We Know About American Horror Story Season 9 So Far

Kenworthy, who took home the silver medal in Men's slopestyle at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, recently appeared as a guest judge on Beat Bobby Flay and as a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race.

With the exception of Roberts' and Kenworthy's casting, not much is known about American Horror Story's ninth season. Murphy previously revealed that the Coven witches will return, but not this season.

Anyway, here's a photo of Kenworthy with his dog, Birdie (who also has an Instagram). Do you think Murphy might find room for her this season, too?
